This practical one-hour session introduces line managers to the basic principles of fair discipline and performance management. Managers learn the difference between substantive and procedural fairness, how to distinguish misconduct from poor performance, and what steps to take when an employee-related incident occurs.

The session also explains how to gather reliable facts, complete an incident report, listen to the employee’s explanation and select an appropriate next step. The focus is on helping managers address workplace issues promptly, consistently and respectfully while complying with the Labour Relations Act.
